It would be helpful to allow recipients to opt out of specific text topics or communication categories instead of unsubscribing from all text messages. For example, a parent may want to continue receiving Kids Ministry updates while opting out of general newsletters or other church-wide communications.

I love this idea! As a workaround while the team reviews, I recommend setting up a Keyword Automated Workflow. Keyword: CHANGE with the text step that says "We can change your communication preference. Reply here to let us know what texts you prefer to keep receiving."
When you ask for updated information or send all church communication, you mention the keyword CHANGE so you get fewer opt-outs. Thanks for sharing, Scott!

When I create a group I would like to not have to manually opt people out. Instead they tend to opt out of all communication.

When contacts do not want to receive Workflow messages, I want them to have the ability to remove themselves from the Group so they don't text STOP and opt out completely.
